Ear Lobe Repair

Ear Lobe Repair

The effects of heavy earrings, trauma, or “gauging up” can result in torn or elongated earlobes.  This can be unattractive or make it impossible to wear earrings.  Many patients do not realize that this can be easily fixed and can be quickly, in the office. In Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Matt Goldschmidt is an expert in earlobe repair and cosmetic ear surgery and can correct a torn earlobe in a matter of minutes.  The procedure can be done under local anesthesia (“Novocaine”) or with sedation or general anesthesia.

Dr. Goldschmidt will listen to your concerns and then develop a treatment plan to address your cosmetic goals.  The earlobes can be reshaped, made smaller, and of course, be repaired if torn.  The incisions usually heal extremely well and Dr. Goldschmidt will also re-pierce your earlobe if you wish either at the same time as the repair or at a later date.

Post-operatively, most patients do extremely well and have very few problems.  There is a slight amount of discomfort that is easily controlled with pain medication and ice.  The scars are inconspicuous and scar treatments may help further fade the scars.  Dr. Goldschmidt and the staff at the Cosmetic Surgery Center in Independence, Ohio will help you in achieving your cosmetic surgery goals.  Earlobe repair can also be done at the same time as other procedures such as a facelift, facial fillers (i.e. Juvederm or Restylane), or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).
